I don't particularly like the answer from GamersNexus here (mostly because that would be bad for all of us here), and Moore's Law is Dead seems to provide another view with "yeah ram is a bit fucked rn but they're expecting to sell consumer things again in 2027 or so"

Ok but what's the actual deal with the ram shortage here? Reading this it seems like everyone pivoted to HBM because that's the profitable thing right now, and stopped selling normal ram (for now?)? and to consumers (for now? forever?)

iirc if you enable developer mode, you can set the animation scale to 0.5 to make animations twice as fast (you can also set it to 0 but that makes some things behave weird)
