In light of @dracowie.bsky.social ‘s continuing boycott of Australia, Manchester et al & his upcoming tour of Garycon- two questions remain. Does this make him a “Stunt Gaz” & has he been made a Guest of Honour/ Honor at Garycon?

Black clothes don’t suit you Doc- stick to your normal colour palette.

Suggested RPG system for "The gorge" pt 1. Questwords by @robindlaws.bsky.social for a GM & 2 players. Slight issue with both characters being snipers and therefore having a fair amount of duplicated skills. Best stress different motivations to act as significant keywords. Longcon format?

The location of the Gorge and what is in it forms part of the mystery of film and is probably best not known before a first watch. Needless to say, the mystery to our two protagonists is part of a conspiracy. Parts of the film feel like a computer game and you could adapt to an RPG system.

And yes, while the new edition of Questworlds is generic, a commitment from Chaosium to start publishing a new Questworlds Glorantha book a year would be great. Still the best system for Glorantha.

Creators, feel free to add to Jonstown Compendium in the meantime .

Questworlds- just 2 days to go.

I’m sure @dracowie.bsky.social is doing his level best to get the Scottish media suitably excited.

then at a certain point move to using Casper's sketchbook to generate clues/ shape the plot forward like Dracula Dossier (written by @kennethhite.bsky.social @mytholder.bsky.social ) or Absinthe in Carcosa ( @robindlaws.bsky.social 's Yellow King) as things get more chaotic). Your RPG system?
February 4, 2025 at 12:15 AM
My suggestion would be to use @robindlaws.bsky.social @pelgranepress.bsky.social 's Fear Itself/ Ecoterrorists as a basis for a rotating cast- each player would play several different PCs based on location- whittled down by insanity/ injury/ death with standard GUMSHOE clues at the start and

Afghanistan. Series 2 expands the locations to France and the Brazilian rainforest. As the series progresses, the different cast members funded themselves linked together. It's a fine series- imperfect but highly watchable. It would be interesting to emulate it in RPG form.

Anybody else watched/ are watching the Apple TV series "Invasion"? Just to clarify, this is not an adaption of the 2000AD "Invasion" (which featured barely disguised Russians- the Volgs invading the UK) with Bill Savage leading the fightback. This is about an alien invasion set in Japan/ US/UK &

it's the 3rd February 2025 and still no release of Questworlds- the no 1 RPG.

I wonder how @dracowie.bsky.social is coping up in sunny Dundee? I heard he's been taking Scottish Gaelic lessons, so he can cover the full range of Scottish media outlets on launch.

If you would like an opportunity to play online a game of Red Moon Rising, with the game's author, then follow the link:

basicroleplaying.org/topic/7444-r... to the bottom of the page. Currently there are spaces.

Red Moon rising is based on Dundee web comic artist Rose Loughran's work.

Just to mention that Humble Bundle has revivied its Wendy & Richard Pini’s Elfquest hraphic novels offer.

Hey @newtus.bsky.social time for some updates on Openquest & other crowdfunding projects from D101 Games.

Hey @thetweedmeister.bsky.social when can we expect the Out of the Ashes/ Liminal VTT support? Also what’s happening with the print copies of “The Book of Quests” & “The Book of Beasts” ? Last ETA given was by the end of 2024.

The truth is out. Not content with boycotting Australia, @dracowie.bsky.social is boycotting cold, damp & grey Manchester for the warmth & colour of Wales. & there I was worried that he would be lonely in the gaming wing of Cowie Castle in Dundee. Which airport did you fly into Doc?

In this weekend’s i paper there’s an article on bibliotherapy- or how to get back for reading for fun again. Once again @thegrognardfiles.bsky.social & @blythygrog.bsky.social contributions through their bookclub is overlooked. How long will the impact of the podcast & side-projects be overlooked?
January 11, 2025 at 4:48 PM
This week in the i paper’s tv sport section- a Julian Cope reference. Quirky coverage.
January 11, 2025 at 3:09 PM
Perhaps Doc could made "guest of honour" for the other Grogmeet 2025 to encourage him to attend. He could give a Glorantha lecture in the 3 hour Grogmeet eve slot; raffle guided tours of the gaming wing of Cowie Castle for charity & model a different kilt for each day. @thegrognardfiles.bsky.social?
January 8, 2025 at 4:17 PM
Best you organise a gaming weekend to combat the Grogmeet blues. After all, who wouldn’t want to game with the legend that you are?

So, what year is it, Doc?

Did anybody else watch Apple TV+ on the weekend, while it was free?

If so, what did you catch?

This meant I could finally read the short story “Vanessa Sommer’s Other Christmas List” from the “Tales from the Folly” collection , a mere 2 years after I had read all the other stories in that collection. 2/2

Progress, eh?
January 6, 2025 at 7:26 PM
First fiction of 2025 finished- Ben Aaronovitch‘s Rivers of London novella “The October Man”. Set in Trier, Germany, featuring Tobias Winter (an apprentice with the German Folly- Abteilung KDA) & local police liaison Vanessa Sommer (yes, he went there) with gruesome deaths & wine. 1/2
