I am an adult
Since it's a density number it could be wonky because there's very few or no residents in that area. Like if four people live there and two of them are kids because it's two parents and two kids you've got 50% kids which is crazy high

It happens from time to time! I remember visiting downtown during the early part of the 2008 snowstorm and watching the chaos unfold, and I think Seattle got 8-10 inches in 2019. They have plows it just can take a bit to get all the side streets and ice on the hills is a problem

Is that the rocket or the deluge system? Kinda sounds like a big valve opening and you hear the wooshing right after

Regardless yeah big fan of good big sound, need more please!

For sure, and I'm not suggesting NASA-grade code and code-writing process is warranted or desirable for all applications.

Airplanes are probably the best example of how failures aren't inevitable. We went 12 years between the SFO crash and the DC collision and given how many airliners fly every day that's getting pretty close to 0. Code can be like this too if you have good process like the Shuttle engine controllers

They also have squirrel bridges! I learned about that on the Coast Starlight from an NPS worker, cool train

I ate at that restaurant on the left corner last time I visited and it was just a constant stream of cyclists in front of the window, so great to see!

I see what you're trying to say — that because it's analyzing your input text and not generating a full new text it's not plagiarizing

But the plagiarization is fundamental to the process of it generating a response to any prompt, and summarization is not an inherently unique mode of operation
October 19, 2025 at 5:44 PM
One issue with that is that the LLM can't exist without the huge input of training data. The only reason they can summarize your text is by scraping other peoples' first to make the model. And even if they got permission first, you're still using a lot of power to do a thing you should be able to do

BESS is great for shifting power a few hours (or maybe days) but this is talking about storing for months to cover seasonal shifts. We do have some tech to do that (pumped storage) but there are siting limitations, etc. which make it not an easy problem

Wait so am I hearing correctly they're using arts funding to remove art?!
