The highly-educated, highly-engaged bluesky milieu you and I run around in is not representative of how the vast majority of people interact with the internet and the world

My dad is a real estate agent who posts on Facebook wacky AI images with captions along the lines of "Can you believe what realtors see?". I'm talking like toilets shaped like a cheeseburger, physically impossible staircases, etc. People constantly ask him what house he saw these things at.

Sorry to break it to you, but the people criticizing AI posting are the fringe. Most people believe what they see is real.

How do I read this? The person running the country hasn't asked Trump to comply with the Supreme Court ruling, so of course he hasn't complied?

Easy to be flippant, but Trump going on the record to tell the media he is not in control of his govt and is being misinformed by advisors. Someone else is running the country.

The right to control the inside of your own body is the primary and foundational right from which all others proceed; the willingness to usurp that right from others in order to dominate, humiliate, and degrade them is the seed of subsequent hierarchies and dominations.

The authoritarian right wants to gut the state of all of its functions that can promote equality and thriving and retain only those that can enforce subordination. Their state endorses rapists because they see them as pioneers, advancing their worldview at a personal scale.
