Love the "absolutely no AI slop ever" "AI bad cos it steals creatives' jobs and is trained on copyrighted materials" crowd bending over backwards to justify the fact that a game shipped out with AI-generated textures that were patched entire days after release cos... they like the game 🤣 ok 🤣

If you're also on Twitter/ X and post art or pictures there, you may want to reconsider. All art can now be modified on platform with #AI, and glazing doesn't seem to work. Spread this to all your artist friends.

Very interesting article. I've done a small test and verified similar bias in political representation myself. Unfortunately no resources to do a large scale study, but glad that others are able to. Human data is biased and will only lead to further bias.

"all the rage" yet I don't know a single person going to these. Almost like if the price is 30-100USD, that's 9-18.000 yen, so maaaybe a one-off experience unless you're rich (median salary in Japan is 320.000-350.000 per month).

Anyway I learnt exactly one thing from this seminar because the rest of the over one hour talk was all stuff I know 👍🏻 but ofc at work I get treated by everyone as a clueless secretary, no one cares about my research and literally nothing I ever said is ever listened to 👍🏻

Also always lovely to see people in teaching positions with 0 peer reviewed articles when nowadays you need a PhD and minimum 3 peer reviewed articles as the main author to even apply for a position and the chance to compete with another 1000 people. Y'all boomers really had it good didn't you.

Lmao this other person just said something with their whole chest and it's factually wrong. Like, I just submitted an article last week that shows that what they say is not true. I don't get invited to talk anywhere though 🤣👍🏻✌🏻

Oh man, the design of this study is problematic. Yeah, ChatGPT will give you better grammar feedback on B1 writing then your pal who's also at B1. I would also prefer AI here. I'm probably around B1/B2 in Japanese and I'd only be able to spot obvious mistakes.
