I used to work for a company that wrote appeals to insurance companies for denied coverage (yes, these exist because a non- medical patient has no chance fighting for themselves). I found it a soul sucking horrible job. When you truly want to help people and its a crapshoot, its heartbreaking.

People forget the reality of lifetime maximums, pre-existing condition denials, children cut off at 18, and no preventative coverage. The insanity of the negotiating your own insurance is making my head spin 360 degrees😵💫
