In recent Dutch elections, the Partij voor de Dieren (Party for the Animals) remained stable with 3 seats in the Tweede Kamer (House of Representatives), but the largest winner was D66, a more progressive party than the previous government--good news for animals and research.

These political wusses should take a lesson from the Chicago City Council that banned these rides already 5 years ago.

I am pleasantly surprised that the NYPD actually responded to a call about a possibly injured cat. I much respect this officer for his compassionate action.

It started almost 35 years ago in order to prevent cruelty to animals. Later on, it turned out to be extremely beneficial for my health. The benefit for the environment became soon apparent, to the point that an environmentalist cannot be taken seriously if they are not also vegan.

Nu dat D66 de grootste partij lijkt te worden, is er hoop dat het apenproefdiercentrum echt geloten gaat worden.

Abuse of humans by clergy, coaches, boy scout counselors, medical personnel, etc. is well-documented. Animal labs are perfect venues for animal abusers. Human victims can speak up, animals do not have that luxury. Whistle blowers and undercover workers are essential.
