Dr Grant highlights that, “Remote working is not just a convenience, it’s a lifeline for many people. But it only works well when managers are equipped to lead inclusively and build trust in virtual teams.”
November 14, 2025 at 11:06 AM
Importantly, it also highlights the importance of training line managers to foster trust, avoid isolation, and create inclusive remote environments.
November 14, 2025 at 11:06 AM
The research, Remote4All, examined the remote-working experiences of disabled and neurodivergent workers. The research shows that without remote working, many disabled and/or neurodivergent people would find it difficult or impossible to work.

✅ Promote and incentivise employer investment in management training to support effective remote and hybrid working

We’re delighted to see that Digit-funded research led by Dr Christine Grant (Coventry University) is cited in support of these recommendations.
November 14, 2025 at 11:06 AM
Among other recommendations, the report urges government to:

✅ Set out whether remote and hybrid working are being considered as part of initiatives to support people with disabilities and long-term health conditions back into work
