when we were stuck together , he told me something .

and i think . . . i think that stuck with me more than i'd like to admit .

why else would he ask , seemingly genuinely , if gangle was capable of experiencing happiness ? he tortures her constantly . why would he care ? he'd denied having any sort of compassion for her , but she noted he was being defensive . perhaps . . .

after seeing an opening , after seeing jax drop his mask for one second , she has to admit it'd be unwise to let him sulk in his . . . whatever he has going on .

( initially , pomni would've never allowed herself to be this emotional around jax - much like how he avoids this kind of thing constantly . but pomni's painfully aware that she's an empathetic person .

i got to see another side of him . the / real / him .
he still has some of his humanity left . maybe that's why he hasn't abstracted .

maybe he's been here so long he's accepted the fact he's stuck . even if it's in his own way . . .

y'know . . . i tried to tell you this before . when you asked me after the manor . but . . .

kinger isn't actually / completely / crazy .

( it's a little frightening , but pomni / has / been growing more accustomed to the circus .
obviously , if she was presented the chance to leave , she / would / - but she definitely hasn't been as frightened as she was when she first arrived .
