Interesting. I was hoping to use one to locate some ground sculkers such as Pittas but looks like that might be asking too much.

Hi Daniel - which thermal did you get ? Does it work during the day in rainforest or does the heat from the surrounding vegetation mask the birds ?

Thank you for your reply, I will take a look. I did think about a headlamp as that would leave me hands free and allow me to digiscope but wasn't sure if they would be powerful enough.
