Diving into the madness of island living, one episode at a time | https://digilost.carrd.co/

Anyway Sun actually did the poisoning because she was trying to make sure Jin stayed on the island? And then Walt admitted he burned the raft and Michael was cool about it? Idk it was all super anticlimactic and dumb.

A solid C episode, hopefully saving the juice for the finale.

I gotta say last Kate episode when we found out she killed the man she loved I was expecting the truth to be a lot more exciting than "he got shot by a municipal cop because he refused to get out of the car before I made a big getaway".

Her trying to doctor the dead lady's passport was clever.

The Kate flashback plot was actually pretty good! I think it's the first time we've actually seen her be an earnest person with earnest motivations in one of these flashbacks, even if it means finding out she's still hung up on her middle school sweetheart. But I guess he's hung up on her too?

Someone poisoned Michael's water? And Sawyer thinks Kate did it but Michael think Sawyer did it but, uh....I think Jin is involved too? This one really felt like spinning some wheels before the finale.

We're supposed to question how far Kate will go to outrun the consequences of her past actions.

Oh! And this episode also had "Jack insists he can keep going after donating ??? pints of blood to a dead guy".

I feel like Jack's burnout plot would be more effective if it wasn't "Oh yeah that's a thing" periodically.

I think it's the big thing holding me back from really liking Jack.

"Shannon shoots Locke" feels like something that should be a bigger deal and will get swept under the rug. We'll see.

I liked the B-plot of Sawyer's voice being the only thing to calm Baby Turnip Head. We should embrace silly B-Plots and give them more screen time, as a society.

Overall a B- ep.

The present plot was fine. I appreciate that Sayid had the presence of mind to get more information before flying off the handle at Locke. Locke's speech at the Booneral was nice because it highlights that he does have a heart, he just isn't really socially apt. I like that side of Locke.

...but would be more effective if we knew anything about this guy except that he's The World's Most Easily Swayed Man. Like we're supposed to believe he went from wanting out to willing to choose death over capture because Sayid passed a Bluff check? Come on, now.

It's a cool concept and Taichi's response to thinking he couldn't be hurt in the digital world was a really interesting insight into the character and growth, but it's frustrating how the nature of the show means that none of this stuff gets a chance to breathe and instead gets shotgunned out.

My big problem here is not the fact the kids are actually digital constructs, but the speed at which Koushiro jumped from "the digital world is the same size as earth" to "we're just data because I have a map of the entire globe's network travel" was iffy.

At this point, even they seem bored by crests, and I'm not entirely convince "drug children with hallucinogens in a magic tunnel" is the *best* training method, but hey, I'm not an expert.

I love this fact.

*flashback plot only connected for a single LINE, sorry, haven't had my coffee today.

Love that Kate and Sayid just don't talk to each other anymore, presumably because the crew realized it was TOO STEAMY and they were giving viewers the wrong idea.

Flashback plot was dumb but everything else was good so I think this earns a B+.

The "oooh one person dies and another is born" and "oooh Jack and Locke both don't like being told what to do" were a little heavy-handed, but I get what they were going for.

Definitely another episode where the flashback plot only connected for a single episode, but Jack married Claire Dunphy?!
