Update on the future of FlyBase:

On 2/1/2029 FlyBase funding will come from the Alliance grant. By then, www.alliancegenome.org will access all FlyBase data. NIH has had a long term plan for a common MOD web site. We are formulating a comprehensive plan to transition FlyBase data to the Alliance.

In my first Drosophila study at @salehlabparis.bsky.social, we found that:

1. Enteric viral infections accelerate aging.
2. Even if the infection is cleared, aging process remains triggered.
3. Accelerated aging correlates with reduced lifespan.
