This was a good read. I think the trend to algorithms, and the desire to keep attention (or in this case, take their cut) determines who they rank higher in the feeds.

I'd love somebody with more knowledge or time to prove this out with data.

I agree, but having a channel where a constant refrain in the comments is "I don't understand why your channel isn't more popular?" happens because I don't use click or rage bait.
