NIMBY makes perfect sense. In fact I think most people who own the home they live in benefit much more from NIMBY policies than YIMBY ones. Now the people who would live in the not yet created houses and the developers would benefit from the building but only a little and they might not get to vote.

AI downplayers don't even realize how amazing their own imagination of how AI models work is. If image models really are just copying from a bunch of different previous works and pasting them together (it isn't) that still means you have a great open ended feature recognizer. cont

Apple is in a really tough situation with AI. Nobody has been able to really stop prompt injection and anything that an Apple AI would be good for would be exposed to injection vectors, have access to secret info, and have ways for data exfiltration (sending texts).
