For anyone who hasn't seen the magnificent Born in the USA/Leaving Vietnam, here are the links to current and upcoming shows. It's powerful and emotional. It's dramatic, humourous and relevant. Go if you can. It might not be a play you think you want to see, but sometimes, those are the best ones.
Here’s a link to the tour dates and venues this Autumn. www.facebook.com/share/163uZr...

"Go to an old cemetery. See all the baby graves from before the 1950s & 60s? After that, hardly any. That's when people started vaccinating their children against deadly childhood diseases. If you're unsure what to do to protect your kids, the answer is literally written in stone."

@mrjamesob.bsky.social I’ve never seen so many flags since I visited Belfast in the 1980s and saw what a symbol of unity they were then.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social I was a drama teacher for 30 years. A joy of the job was creating a safe space for anxious kids and see them gain in confidence- not as performers but as communicators. Yet I spent years fighting for my subject not to be marginalised in favour of more ‘important’ subjects!

@mrjamesob.bsky.social my favourite Farage falsehood is the claim to have been the victim of an assassination attempt when his wheel bearing wore out and he didn’t understand the French mechanic because he’d not bothered to learn the language of the country he lived and worked in.

@lewisgoodall.com your Reform caller brings to mind a comment by Jamie Rubin on #TheExFiles last week. In the old days politicians argued about the facts but they didn’t argue what the facts were. When people are prepared to say that black is white, debate is dead.

So Putin’s gone crazy? That was a TV series I must have missed then: “Vladimir Putin, the reasonable years”.

@mrjamesob.bsky.social Sophocles (who lived until around 90) said that the end of sexual desire was like being freed from a “mad and savage master”. God bless Barry!!

The play ‘Born in the USA’ is on tour. Caught it in Dundee tonight - highly recommended. 75 minutes, single handed, audience captured throughout - well done @dickyv.bsky.social

I CANNOT recommend this one person play Leaving Vietnam by my friend @dickyv.bsky.social enough. It's emotional, powerful and still highly relatable. If you get a chance, please go and see it. You won't regret it. thebrunton.online.red61.co.uk/event/2814:5...

@mrjamesob.bsky.social do you remember when Norwich Union changed its name to Aviva? There was a great promo ad with Ringo Starr, where he asks,
“Would I have become famous if I’d stuck with my old name Richard Starkey?”
Yes! If you were fortunate enough to join a band with Lennon and McCartney!

@jason-watkins.bsky.social welcome! Ridiculous decision regarding McDonald and Dodds. Let’s hope that sense prevails ultimately and the decision is reversed .
