In recent years, but especially over the past year, Muslims, and particularly Dutch citizens of Moroccan descent, have often been labeled as antisemitic or not integrated into Dutch society. 🧵

And while he’s quick to run a half marathon, he’s even quicker to run away from the responsibility of being a leader for all Dutch citizens. Leadership isn’t about picking and choosing who you represent—it’s about standing for everyone, especially those who feel unheard and excluded.

To add insult to injury, Schoof has failed to address the racism within his cabinet and government. By turning a blind eye to blatant racism, he’s complicit in maintaining a system that marginalizes people rather than protecting them.

What’s worse is his unwavering support for Israel, even as it faces accusations of genocide against Palestinians. By ignoring the suffering of Palestinians and dismissing the voices of Dutch Muslims who speak out against this, he’s showing clear bias. This isn’t the leadership we need.

And now, as Prime Minister, his divisive rhetoric about Moroccan-Dutch citizens and Muslims only deepens the gap. Instead of acting as a unifier, his words reinforce harmful stereotypes and create a “them versus us” mentality. How can someone in his position think this is acceptable?

Under his leadership at the NCTV, Muslims were disproportionately targeted and profiled, with their privacy rights blatantly ignored. These unconstitutional practices didn’t just violate the law—they eroded trust between communities and the government.
