Hi all!

Just turned up on Bluesky. Relaxing, isn't it?

I see the climate and health clan started without me 🙂

Fully endorse this excellent Economist article by Minister of Health of 🇳🇱

It makes clear why health should be central to identifying and promoting actions that are good for people right now, as well as for the climate.

Health is the popular twin of climate action—use it for benefits across the board
Make health a goal and you will not only achieve economic and social gains, but also help motivate climate action, argues Judith Tielen, minister for youth, prevention and sport of the Netherlands

Investing in #ClimateAction is not just about the planet. It is about people.

US$ 11 billion a year could build climate-resilient health systems, costing less than US$ 2 per person worldwide.

Let's call on your leaders to put health at the heart of every climate plan! 👉bit.ly/HealthCOP30 #COP30

Climate news is mainly bad - we need to talk more about the solutions which will improve people’s lives.

I heard recently that the ideal ratio in communication for action is ´ 3 parts joy to 1 part doom’.

There is enough bad news around, so
we threw in an extra 2 parts of joy for free.

The benefits of climate solutions—perhaps especially switching to clean energy—are many and profound. New research suggests we should redouble efforts to communicate those benefits. Sounds right to me.

As with all other health services, women and girls should be able to access safe and respectful abortion care, when they need it, without fear of harm, punishment or recrimination.
