All they have to do is stall a short time & will then have an excuse to keep the gerrymandered maps because it will be too close to when candidates need to register for elections. That would be such a chickenshit way to keep the gerrymandered maps.

Let's take a look at whether these Senators voted to "downsize" (staff) federal agencies & reduce their budgets.
These agencies were already understaffed & budgeted before Doge & the big beautiful bill. There is a separate Fire fund but I don't know if it was caught in the budget slicing.

As a former USDA Forest Service biologist & then County employee I acknowledge there are some problems with national & state environmental regulations. They can be onerous & also not protective enough. But they are the ONLY regulations putting any brake on exploitive land uses so we must keep them!

She & fiscal conservative Republicans appear to be the first rats to jump off his ship. Another indication his ship is sinking? Though its possible she & several other Republican women truly were moved by testimony from the Epstein survivors. Hope its true but more likely politically expedient.

He has done so many things that are not covered by the get out of jail free decision by the Supreme Court. They range from his personal/family enrichment to murders of non-combatents off the coast of Venezuela. Add neutralizing checks & balances, & turning his party into white Christian nationalist.

Thought other red states are also gerrymandering districts? Anyway, redistricting is no guarantee. The public is pissed & many Republicans have fled their votes for Trump. Unless something big happens between now & then, I think Dems will do well.

Corporations - I guarantee you that having your thumb on your news programs to tone them down or be compliant with what Trump wants will NOT BE forgotten. Some of you have already felt impacts on your bottom line. There will be more of that if you don't let journalists do their jobs!

Don't know about you but I'm sick of these cruel & hateful people using the lame excuse of national security. When our country gets past this the first act should be abolishing dept of homeland security & ICE with it. Never again should this unassailable excuse be used by authoritarians.
