Did you get tired of the “ideogram” series? Well, here’s something different. Acrylic, paper and pen on reused canvas. #reusedcanvas #lyricalabstraction #contemporarymixedmedia

One more for the series of assembled forms, or imaginary ideograms. #assemblage #abstractmixedmedia #cardboardart #contemporarymixedmedia

Another two pieces in this series. Are these #ideograms? Are they stand-alone pieces or meant to be grouped together? #lyricalabstraction #reusedcardboard #abstractmixedmedia

Patchogue outside the CD 2 Republican congressman’s office.

Here’s the third in the grouping (the multicolored one has been dropped at least for now). #lyricalabstraction #smallworks #cardboardart #abstractmixedmedia

This new one is okay by itself, but for now too big for the line up. You may notice one color got replaced #cardboardart #lyricalabstraction #ideograms ?

And here’s the next in the series. Also reused cardboard, acrylic and pencil. #smallworks #cardboardart #abstractmixedmedia

First (tentatively) completed small cardboard form. Acrylic, reused cardboard, pencil. #blueandwhiteart #cardboardart #abstractmixedmedia

Here’s a piece that will be one of a kind. It came about through the utter failure of my original thought, and through my poor skills at correcting what I have done. Papers, acrylic and pencil on reused canvas 36 x 36 inches. #lyricalabstraction #abstractcollage #contemporaryabstraction

When I joined BlueSky I left instagram, my only social media. My hope was to find an art haven, as IG had been. Then I got sucked into reading & reposting political stuff, to little effect. So I have dropped some follows and will revert to offering & viewing art. Here, phase 1 of these!

This is what has happened with this one. But who knows, in a few days it could be white! #reusedcardboard #abstractmixedmedia #colorfulart #smallworks

A new series in cardboard. Unlike earlier series, where each had a specific palette, this one is not proclaiming itself. One shown here will apparently be multicolored (stay tuned), the other wants one color but hasn’t made its needs clear. #reusedcardboard #abstractmixedmedia #smallworks

This piece (enormous for me at 4 x 4 feet) is going to a home on Fire Island, NY. If I can figure out how to get it there! #abstractcollage #abstractart #lyricalabstraction

Complete with lines! Red with Forms and Lines (2025), 33 x 33 inches. Papers, acrylic, pencil, crayon.

A few weeks ago this piece was all titanium buff with just the collaged raised piece on the left and a couple of lines. You should know that lines are kind of a thumbprint in my work, I rarely can get to the end without one or two. This piece is poised now while I figure out about the lines.

When I joined BlueSky, I wanted to look at and share art. And now look at my feed!! I come to my studio and can’t see the point of adding to my backlog of work. But today I found a little initiative and have added to my longstanding series of small collages on coffee-dyed handmade watercolor paper.

Three small collages (6 inches square) I just stumbled upon, looks as if at some point I did them in a sketchbook, which was short-lived enterprise some years ago.

Earlier work in cardboard. The work, in fact, that got me out of my 2020 Covid immobility. #cardboardsculpture #abstractsculpture #reusedcardboard #smallsculpture

One of the things I’m enjoying about BlueSky is that I’m finding old companions here but also artists I had not known before. So here’s a few views of my studio, for those new friends.

These are all the same piece, now deconstructed

Here are the rest (see earlier post!) of these tiny wall pieces, remade from kind of accordion sculptures that could be folded enough to stand up, but when I looked at them recently that didn’t do anything for me.

My first post here, fleeing Meta. These pieces started out as kind of accordion sculptures that could be folded enough to stand up, but when I looked at them recently that didn’t do anything for me. Now parts of them are tiny wall pieces, largest is 4 x 6 inches.
