Reinstalling Confederate statues is … I don’t even have the words. Wait, of course I do.
The statues were not erected for the purpose of preserving history. They were and are messages of white supremacy. Easy to find this information and I’m ashamed of how old I was before I learned it.

Today I celebrated my Right to Read with the #1 challenged book in the US: All Boys Aren’t Blue by George M. Johnson. I can only assume that challengers haven’t read it or oppose it because it reflects Blackness and LGBTQ+ experiences. This is a tender memoir that belongs in libraries and hearts.

They teach children about their bodies, body autonomy, and how not to get groomed.
