For the #JanuArty prompt #Light: This was my holiday table, assembled on #WinterSolstice. The candle has a woodblock print created by friend and artist Gail Owen.

This art is composed of one large Indian Palmistry image transfer on an altered topographical map with found objects embedded just above each finger tip and in the center of the palm. The objects are (starting at the little finger and moving clockwise) an amethyst cluster, a silver dollar, a glass vial containing rose petals, a geode, and a miniature bird cage with open door, filled with bits of a poem. In the center of the palm is an embedded magnifying glass framing another map.

Day 6 - #ArtAdventCalendar - "Bone Country" - Mixed media on topographical map and embedded bones. This is an older piece and one I have created many variations of for commissions, gifts, etc.
This art is composed of an altered topographical map, (stained with dye made from soil and water from the area of the map), embedded small animal bones (found in that place) and the words "From what water do you come? Where is your bone country?" across the top third of the piece. The words are credited to an Australian Aboriginal elder.
