What I love about combining prose or poetry with photography is how it gives you a different dimension to convey what the image evokes in you; hoping to create an emotional connection with your audience.

Your posts are always so lovely. Thank you, @tenoaks6.bsky.social.

“Perhaps I ought to worry less.”

So hard to do! I think the hardest part is breaking through the worry cycle. Once past that, it gets easier to focus on finding something you have the power to change for the positive. 🌤️ ☀️

Foil is a good idea. Sounds like we may need to experiment multiple times!

Oh, my! I’m already thinking about how to adapt this for beach BBQs next summer. Folks always want s’mores. Can you skewer baguette slices to toast them over a bonfire? Maybe not through the crust, but down then up like a running stitch when sewing? Or maybe use a long-handled grilling basket? 😋

Artist Richard Turner‘s design: Lincoln’s words are inscribed around the pool. A seat inspired by the Lincoln Memorial sits on a grassy mound across from the wall, elevating democracy in the face of totalitarianism.

Yes, in Olympic National Park! We hiked up there several years ago. One of my favorite photos with my kids is from ONP. You don’t have to be a serious hiker, backpacker type. We didn’t hike all the way up. There’s a visitor center you can drive to, then do shorter hikes up and around the area.

Clearly a garden, not a crowded avenue. 😍
Mine needs rehabilitation, a project for next year, so thanks for sharing!

Have you ever tried dry brining? Amazing for Thanksgiving turkey; no messy liquid. Russ Parsons based it on Judy Rogers’ (Zuni Café) roast chicken. I haven’t ever tried it for chicken pieces, though. This is a reboot of the original “Judy Bird” recipe article - www.latimes.com/la-fo-salted...
Recipe: Dry-brined turkey (a.k.a. the 'Judy Bird')
Total time: 2 hours, 50 minutes Servings: 11 to 15 Note: This is more a technique than a recipe.

Reminds me of that time I took a shortcut & ended up driving between fields of sunflowers, spurring an obsession to photograph them the next year, not in fall, but in June. I timed helping my UC Davis Aggie move out with a YoloArts Art & Ag farm visit.

@goodport.bsky.social What an amazing spread! I haven’t thrown a big get-together at home in awhile. Agree. Always plan for enough so there are leftovers. My mom used to say if you ran out of food, you sent your guests home hungry.

Thanks, #exPosties for all the beautiful & calming photos & posts!

💡 “Education Statistics” may sound like wonky policy stuff, but this one piece of the Department of Education IES alone directly impacts high school students across the country.
