Quite a day. Author talk to fabulous book club (in penthouse overlooking Potomac), full-page review in Washington History AND query from journalism student in China(!) who read my book and wants to talk more about Eliza Scidmore’s photographic legacy.

I gave an author talk to the Rotary Club of Washington, D.C., the day before Thanksgiving. Now they'll be planting a tree in my honor--probably a cherry tree, they say, in line with the subject of my book!

Magnificent displays at Longworth Gardens, during getaway for B’s 70th birthday. First-time visit was fortuitous on first day of holiday decorations, plus opening of new conservatory wing.

Late afternoon at Brandywine Museum in Chadds Ford, Pa. Easy to see why Wyeths were enchanted by this captivating landscape over three generations of painters. Great exhibit of Andrew Wyeth’s paintings from Maine, many on exhibit for first time.
