Sharing what I'm learning as I go
Lately, I’ve taken on new challenges in my team, which motivated me to learn more about management. I recently finished the “Managing and Leading Developers” path on LinkedIn Learning and I’m so happy! I’ve learned a lot, gained new tools and realized I want to keep learning about this area 🚀

Getting back into the routine hasn’t been easy, but I finally finished “The Manager’s Guide to Difficult Conversations” course and my main lessons were: identify situations for online communication and coach people to solve their own problems instead of doing all the work for them. 🙌

I was excited about the course “Building Trust” and some key takeaways were: show you care and assume positive intent to build trust. They also recommended the Donut bot for building relationships in remote teams. I already set it up in one of our Slack channels, curious to see how it goes! ✨

After a short break… Today’s course was “Inclusive Tech: Conducting Humane Code Reviews.” I really liked discovering the Team Working Agreement document, the importance of avoiding subjective comments and a habits I want to keep in mind: suggest with facts ✍️

Today I released some changes to the testing environment and broke it. Lesson learned: the root-config in #single-spa should only orchestrate microfrontends, not act as an app with a JS framework.

Learning by failing today 🥲

Course done: “Agile Software Development: Creating an Agile Culture.”

What really resonated with me: Google teams succeed because of psychological safety. Also, healthy conflict is an essential ingredient for successful teams 🚀

Just listened to episode 4 of the @ladybug.dev podcast and the main insight for me is: a Product Manager defines the what and why while an Engineering Manager defines the who, how and when 🤝

And now that it’s raining, I’m taking the chance to learn about monorepos and microfrontends with #GentlemanProgramming ⛈️

Hard to focus today (it’s Saturday), but I finished “Succeeding as a First-Time Tech Manager” course. My key takeaways: make sure the team knows and believes in the company vision to stay motivated and adapt strategies to communicate effectively with any audience 🎙️

Today it was the turn of the course “Tech Career Skills: Effective Technical Communication.” What stuck with me: automate to keep code quality high and try the POWER method for better meetings 📆

Just finished the course “Tech Career Skills: Moving from Developer to Engineering Manager” on LinkedIn Learning. Lots of good insights about stepping back from coding, mentoring and handling difficult conversations 📝

Today I had a burst of motivation and added a journal section to my portfolio. Styles aren’t finalized yet, but I wanted to start a public notebook to store my daily notes and learnings about technology and management 🤓
