The road was closed at rte 23 so we had to backtrack to the covered bridge. So we got to see the redbuds twice. Absolutely stunning. If you live nearby you should go

Went to Chanticleer gardens yesterday. In spite of the cold weather and wind the garden was beautiful. Lots of daffodils and spring flowers in the woods.
Drove home through Valley Forge park along the creek to see the redbuds

It feels so surreal I the midst of all the chaos my life goes on it’s mundane way. Hard not to feel overwhelmed. So I am focusing on something important in its own way. I am doing the Great Backyard Bird Count next weekend with Audubon and Cornell this coming weekend February 14-17.

Lesser celandine ‘Ficaria verna’ is a terrible scourge here growing in large mats along stream banks in spring. It has a yellow flower so people think it’s pretty often confusing it with marsh marigold

Just signed up for iMapinvasives spring survey on lesser celandine here in PA. Happening in March and April. You go out in public spaces and look for lesser celandine and then report it to iMapinvasives
