Happy Bday to Almagul Menlibayeva, one of the artists who transformed my thinking and writing. I wrote a very personal text about her work that I saw for the first time in 2006 but the book I wrote it for is still stuck in print.

Got official photos from my talk at the Bukhara biennial symposium that happened recently in a magical setting of the 16th century Gavkushon Madrasa in one of my favorite cities in Central Asia. I was surrounded by artworks of my friends on slides and at the biennale.

Went to see Askhat Akhmediyarov today to discuss a few things in the book I’m finalising now on protest art to check his old quotes.

Left his home after an 1.5h interview he told me to record thinking that I urgently need to write a new book.

It’s been a very spiritual summer. I think it was preparing me for smt grandeur and the forthcoming week with the coolest performances, my shaman friends & artists looks very promising as a last bit of the “spiritual awakening” (I’m Rukhani Kenguru ahahah).

Qaznews24 was a satirical public but sadly it predicted a lot of things like inflation, unlawfulness, and more.

But they made us laugh and as many write, their satirical critique made our days but above all, influenced the political attitudes.
