Tonight I had the pleasure of attending my first Houston poetry reading at the Alley Theatre. Naomi Shihab Nye and Jennifer Chang read from their new collections. Nye’s poem “Gate A-4” (which she did not read tonight) has long been one of my favorite poems. She’s generous, funny, and kind.
