So in general, it's at least easier to get the affinities and abilities you want now (and affinity is basically the most build relevant thing).
They also added a glamour system. You create a battle set with the looks you want and then designate it as the "appearance" set.

The third dlc introduces a year copy mechanic and wildcard materials, which can be used if you're out of whatever material is required (aptly named Manakin material). There was another change I think, don't remember.
It's still annoying, but far less so than it used to be for what it's worth.

Nope lol but they expanded the smithy functionality up until the 2nd dlc you can fuse gear and pick the abilities/affinity for the merge, change abilities, enhance the gear level/abilities/affinities. Job emblem drops (for affinities) drop randomly now (used to be tied to your jobs)

Best thing you can do is hope that gear with affinity for your main job and Knight drops so you can get Knight affinity to 400 (or was it 600) to get invincibility while lightbringer is active and then just play in extra mode.

I always thought all Gilgamesh are the same. I mean, I can see how the one from 9 or 15 would be exceptions since they're radically different from his usual depiction.
And it took me a while to get through the final dlc. Had to do a lot of gear grinding.

Jack's game also has two endings with the dlc - A leads to FF1 business as usual which leads to sad Dissidia Garland. B ending leads to Jack becoming the God of Discord (chaos, not the furry chat) which leads to ???

He recognizes Jack but also surmises that, while he's Garland, he's not the Garland he knows (same conclusion Greg had). Anyway when Jack is done with him, the Mog (Will) claims that Mateus is just a normal person now and Jack tosses him through a portal.

That would imply it takes place after the last dlc for Jack's game, but that can't be the case because when Jack is done with the Emperor, he's "just a regular person now kupo" so that makes no fucking sense. Mateus is also why I'm asking because...

Yeah it's all fucked up and I can't find clear answers either. I think the mobile game kinda does it's own thing because I can't fully put it on any tl due to Jack and Neon being there and Jack and Mateus having a partner attack.

I'd guess they have some contractual obligation to keep the main remake (and XVI) on PS and from all I can see, it's biting them in the ass.
I don't even remember his Crisis Core voice actor, or did he make an appearance in Remake and they changed his VA after that?

Dude they fucking sold the IPs to Tomb Raider and Deus Ex plus the studios, to invest in NFTs and that DeusEx MD did so bad is their own damn fault too and then the NFT market crashes. Fucking brilliant. Or a few years earlier, they let Hitman go, I bet they're fuming at how successful it is.

Speaking of SE, I don't get how idiotic they are anyway. They invest in NFT only for the market to crash, have a confusing release pattern for their games and to top it off, they're sitting on all those SNES RPGs they could release as a collection, except they don't. They gotta be the dumbest.

Oh absolutely these days it's just AAA slop. The only system that offers some sort of variety is the Switch.

One thing I hate about the story is, that we don't know what happened to his f(r)iends. FF1 implies he gets to live happily ever after but personally, I'd have liked a more definitive conclusion for Jack and his friends. While they were mostly sideshow, I really liked them.

The DLC is pretty cool. Bahamut adds some interesting story tidbits, wanderer of the rift adds new (quick) stages and different future adds the finale.
I loved the game and it's story but I get not touching it again. The grind and loot is terrible.
