One thing I think people tend to be a little afraid of is letting the kitten be a little annoying? But I think letting Pesto just BE a baby and let them naturally work out their dynamics was helpful. Obviously I watched stress levels but it both taught him boundaries and forced her to deal with it.

At about a month they were able to be in the same room together. Around that same time my older cat started cautiously initiating play, but was still really uncertain and easily overstimulated. My younger cat is persistent, so once play was available he started forcing her to spend time together.

I straight up cried a couple times in the first few weeks cause it’s SO hard and I doubted I made the right choice in getting a cat for my cat, but they’re super bonded now. It really does just take time and that’s annoying lmao.
