Interesting but not surprising—10 bacterial species dominate half of the literature. While model organisms are invaluable, this highlights the immense diversity we’re overlooking. Are we limiting discovery by sticking to the familiar?

TL;DR: there’s no evidence for a ‘brain microbiome.’ Contamination explains microbial DNA findings in brain studies. Let’s stick to rigorous science and avoid speculative claims.
