DOGE has been very adamant about firing Federal workers.
However, Federal worker salaries for FY 2024 only accounted for 3% of withdrawals from the TGA.
In other words, even if they fired all Federal workers, they'd still barely put a dent in spending.

It seems they're doing a lot of damage without being effective with these job cuts.
However, if their actual goal is to destabilize the economy so as to lower interest rates, then I guess their moves make sense.
