Finally reached level 16 in Ingress after many years and have removed it from my phone. Done. Don't see the point in playing it more: reached the top level. Played a lot in early years, then picked it up again last year. This will add years to my phone's battery life.

I heard that Jimmy Kimmel has been fired from the Jimmy Kimmel show. That must really put the studio in a bind -- presumably, they're going to have to find some one else with the same name. That or change the show name, right?

Bumper crop of tomatoes last week -- too many to eat. 2 kg became a basil pasta sauce, 3 kg became a roasted tomato soup. The freezer is almost full. Here's some of the tomatoes before and after roasting.

First corn of the season. The tip kernels aren't totally filled in but the rest of the ear is sweet and juicy (but Gollum can't have any).

Ah punaise ! Look what I found deposited on the back of a sunflower: stink bug eggs (Nezara viridula). These have already hatched, so welcome to the neighborhood my annoying little friends.

The bull dancing ring in Roquefort. Not the cheese Roquefort (Roquefort-sur-Soulzon in Aveyron), but the one in Landes. Far enough south to have a bull festival, far enough north for the bulls to survive it.
