Well imagine that!!!

Legally, probably no but we know how Trump just loves following the law.
December 11, 2025 at 12:39 AM
I am surprised there is not a shortage of hemorrhoid cushions with all the people butt hurt over Mr. Tapper.

Say they raise the money. It’s just kicking the can down the road. The district will have the same problems next year. Is someone going to pony up $ to keep the building open then?
December 10, 2025 at 10:35 PM
Great, where are they at election time?
December 10, 2025 at 3:09 AM
The only way Dems are going to make inroads in Texas is to start local. City, county races. Build the coalition then get state reps and state senate wins, maybe even governor, Lt. governor.

Trying to win the big seats w/o a political apparatus invites failure.

Hate to burst your bubble but Texas is blood MAGA republicans red. Even sleazy Ken Paxton polls better than any of the Democrats.

My dog is smarter than the combined assemblage.

Part of me wants to say, Boo F'ing Hoo. That thankfully is overrided by the thought that nobody should be threatened in such a manner.
December 9, 2025 at 4:35 PM
Any Democrat\politician not willing to hold the Trump administration criminally accountable should not even try running of ran office.
December 9, 2025 at 4:30 PM
Maybe so but the "Democratic Party" ruled Texas politics from reconstruction after the Civil War until the 1970's - early 1980's. Do not expect the Republicans letting go of their power w/o a fight.

You do realize that he will want us to refer to him as "Lord Nichols"!
December 9, 2025 at 3:34 PM
He is going to come home from the UK insisting we refer to him as "Lord Nichols".
December 9, 2025 at 3:30 PM
If you buy one you absolutley must also buy an eye monocle and a Top Hat.
December 9, 2025 at 3:22 PM
I am not saying the a Dem will never win the seat. I remain hopeful. But currently the Repubublican party has an iron clad lock on politics on the state level in Texas.
December 9, 2025 at 3:10 PM
Comparing Senator Cruz to Cornyn does not hold much water.

2020 Senate election. Cornyn beat Hegar by 10 percentage points. 53% to 43%.

Now, If Cornyn is not the candidate then maybe there is a chance. Especially if Paxton is the candidate. But even then it is doubtful.
December 9, 2025 at 3:06 PM
A democrat has not won a state wide election in Texas since 1993.
I am not saying it will never happen. I am though saying the current state of the Democratic party in Texas is close to DOA.
December 9, 2025 at 2:54 PM
Yes. Reguardless though who is the Republican candidate the chances of them loosing is almost nil.
December 9, 2025 at 2:50 PM
Lifelong Texan here. She as any Democrat in Texas has as much a chance of unseating Cornyn as
Mr. Nichols would be to use fresh garlic in his roast leg of lamb.

Their food is mediocre at best. Their faux southern charm is as inauthentic as their food quality.
December 9, 2025 at 12:15 PM
If he makes it through 2026 I’ll eat my hat.
December 9, 2025 at 1:08 AM
I am more interested in said Democrat bringing those Trump followers to justice for breaking so many laws.
December 9, 2025 at 1:04 AM
Trump backpedaling or lying? Color me shocked!
