I think it’s more that we just aren’t playing well which sometimes just happens. Zubimendi some uncharacteristically missed passes. Calafiori caught in possession in our own half. Some of it also due to Chelsea’s pressure

Surprised at the field tilt in the first ~25 minutes. Don’t recall ever feeling under much pressure.

So you think he just took it upon himself to fake an injury? And that’s enough to call him sleazy. He ran off holding his arm in a weird position. Was probably being yelled at to get up to avoid the 10 second run off which ended up happening.

Don’t think it was a fake injury. There’s no benefit to faking an injury there. Even if the clock stops for the injury it still restarts in the refs signal

I don’t really disagree. I imagine we will see at least one of Nwaneri or Eze (if not both) no matter how the game goes anyway. Saka too unless he’s only available in an emergency

Could have also started Nwaneri over Merino. I’m not advocating for it but I think it would be considered more attack minded

The circumstances for each game are different. Sometimes, like today, teams create enough to score a goal but the goal doesn’t come until late. The bigger issue is matches when they were evenly or out played. But picking up those wins buys Slot time to figure out how to make the new squad work

There’s a lot of criticism of Arteta going around for playing too conservative (a position I don’t agree with for this fixture). Do you think we shifted and played more conservative than originally planned due to the Saliba injury?

Also I don’t think Isak is the answer to their problems.

Problem is Liverpool are buying time for Slot to figure out how to make his team work. This result isn’t fatal by any means. But in a tight race it might enough if Liverpool figure it out soon.

We were equals at their ground without 3 of our 4 best players for 65 minutes. But Liverpool are buying Slot time to figure out how to make their team work by winning despite not great performances. In a close race that might be the difference if they do figure it out soon.

Knew I shouldn’t have gotten excited at all the national seeds falling

This CWS field is going to make me so sad

I’ve been a a subscribed for a good little bit and can’t figure out how to join the discord. So any help please?

Right. But this wasn’t called offsides during the game and likely would have been if Martinelli had scored. This chance accounted for most of our xG in the other models I saw. So it’s kind of misleading to include it

I’d argue that Dembele didn’t even kick the ball real good but still kicked it into the goal. It looks like he hit it closer to his knee than his foot
April 29, 2025 at 9:49 PM
Does this factor in Martinelli’s chance that was offside?
April 29, 2025 at 9:44 PM
Thanks to you both
April 26, 2025 at 7:54 PM
Can you explain why? I haven’t seen much of either but just looking at their bars on fbref and Ekitike looks like the clear choice. Obviously that’s not the whole story though
April 26, 2025 at 7:04 PM
Who would you rather have Adam? And who is your first choice outside of Isak?
April 26, 2025 at 6:59 PM
At some point after coming so close you have to put all your chips in play

Gotcha. So spurs paid a fee and wages and Arsenal just paid wages. If they don’t sign Tel permanently (and I think he will be looking for a champions league club) that seems pretty wasteful. But maybe he keeps them from being relegated 😂
February 4, 2025 at 3:23 PM
So spurs are paying €10 million plus whatever portion of his wages they agreed to pay and Arsenal paid £5 million plus 2/3 (I think that was the amount) of Sterling’s wages?
February 4, 2025 at 3:05 PM
Is the loan fee separate from covering (a portion of) the player’s salary or is that the amount that essentially covers whatever the new team is paying?
