I'm on board with everything but the salary cap on congressional salaries. Any employer will tell you that if you want to attract good candidates for a job, it really helps if you are offering a good salary. Underpaying congress invites members to do things like taking bribes. This is a bad idea.

Do stats like these account for the teams involved? If the Pats had been playing Mahomes would it have still said +1.3% go for it? Would it have said the same thing if they were playing JJ McCarthy? Those are wildly different situations.

The risks of not doing it are immense. It's not the solution, it's a stop gap measure to hold off the feedback loops we've triggered while we actually solve the problem. It's not to save a single species, it's to save 75%, or more, of all species. We've triggered an extinction event.

The thing is the sooner we try it the less we have to move the needle for it to work. We have more heating coming even if by some miracle we could hit net zero tomorrow, both from the carbon already in the atmosphere and the feedback loops we've triggered.
