Me to therapist: I don’t want to be one of those people who dies as ignorant as the day they were born
Therapist: laughs
Me: seriously! It happens
Therapist: oh, I know-and they vote!
…and we laugh and laugh before we both stare blankly into the abyss

Beshear: Let me be clear. The president has both the funding and the authority to fund snap during a shutdown. In fact, every other president in every other shutdown has done so. People going hungry in this instance is a choice that this president has made.

The Dems have a tougher job than the GOP.

The Dems view government as a means for improving peoples’ lives. When government doesn’t deliver, we get blamed.

The GOP, meanwhile, insists that government is inept and evil. And they get credit for proving themselves right.

In an effort to find the bright spots amidst the doom and gloom that is public health, we saw that Humana is reducing prior authorization requirements for certain outpatient diagnostics as of Jan 1, 2026!

Is it the biggest win? No
But is it progress? Hell yeah

Humana to reduce about one-third of prior authorization requirements
Humana said on Tuesday it would eliminate about one-third of prior authorizations for outpatient services by next year, the latest insurer to address the tedious paperwork process that has been a pain point for patients and providers.

Everyone talks about how JFK ignited the economy by cutting taxes.

No one ever really talks about how he increased the minimum wage from $1.00 to $1.15 and then to $1.25 just two years after that.

Thats 25% in 2 years!

I bet that had to do a lot with the economic prosperity of the 60s.

1 tbsp celery salt
2 tsp ground bay leaves
2 tsp smoked paprika
1 1/2 black pepper
1 tsp ground mustard
1/4 tsp allspice
1/4 tsp cayenne
1 pinch cinnamon
1 pinch nutmeg
1 pinch ginger

I tripled the recipe
