I can’t begin to explain how much the holidays screw with my head.I’ve tried and tried,and I can’t figure out the formula to enjoy.I’ve run away from them, hosted them, minimalist, maximalist, drunk, sober, faked it (didn’t make it), cried, ranted, smiled, laughed…I’m all outta tricks this year.

Ordered ham, shopped for all the sides. 2 of four expected for dinner: “we don’t eat ham anymore …or turkey“. Time for the Costco rotisserie Christmas Chicken!

Holidays have been a nightmare the last 4 years. No decorations, no family, nothing. This year changes that. Beach at thanksgiving, select family at home for Christmas, beach for New Years. Plus decorating for Christmas. I can change the narrative for the better.

Maybe I need a job. I’m really bored. Contract work ended 2 weeks ago and my PRN Immunization job is done until August 2024.
