What is the additional cost to manufacture a grid-forming inverter over a grid following inverter?
How do they know the desired frequency - e.g. internet connection to... the grid operator?
For timing / clock synch do they need or use internet NTP, or GPS, or USNO shortwave or something like those?

Sorry to hear that. In case it saves you some time, I have also tried a drone, and a leaf blower with gutter cleaning (j-shaped) attachment; neither worked.
Maybe someone can invent an RC vehicle with foam snowplow attachment, or a roof Roomba that can blow snow.

I use a Sno-Pro snow broom, which is a foam rectangle, attached to a telescoping aluminum pole.

Who was your installer? I'm finding many area installers don't offer cold climate heat pumps yet, maybe because they only sell certain models of one brand. Initiatives like DOE's Residential Cold Climate Heat Pump Challenge seem helpful to this end, but it has only just completed.
