Young people are a populist leader's greatest strength. They don't respect institutions, organizations, precedents, and think of negotiation and acknowledging complexity as foot-dragging. The most impactful movements in history have all been driven by the absolutism of youth.

The GOP has become the CCP. Trump is their Mao. They rubber-stamp every whim he has. They purge all dissent and violently attack all opposition. When the tanks start rolling over peaceful student protesters it'll be MAGA behind the wheel.

That was the old republican party. Today's republicans are more like the CCP. Trump is their Mao. When the tanks start roll over peaceful civilian protesters they’ll be driven by gleeful GOP voters.

Thanks, this series cut me off after three so I could only partially read the rest of the series. Visited Mexico City in 2023 and have been casually digging into various aspects of mesoamerican history/culture ever since. Your feed has been a wonderful find!
