It would be really interesting to see how some players’ comps change in the model over time especially if they are young and unlock new strengths like a third pitch or improved eye or launch angle

Okay good point! You’ve been honing this model MUCH longer than the couple of hours I’ve been thinking about it. So out of everyone who ever played in MLB and AAA why does the model choose Davanon over say Jayson Werth, who struck out at a similar rate at a similar age? And had the same hair!

The age related comps are intriguing at first glance. Davanon, who didn’t play a full season until age 29, for age 26 Marsh wouldn’t have been my first guess, while Dunn for Schwarber would’ve. But it’s also 2am so I will get back to counting sheep or great Bill Doran plays until I’m back asleep.
