If that's true, then yes it's gotten out of hand. I've been in these trenches for a while and I've yet to hear such reports, but I'll see what I can find. What you mentioned usually goes in the other direction, against the enthusiasts, but I won't doubt that an online community has gone too far

Fair point, and another reason the phenomenon (be it physical or psychological) needs to be examined formally. Also UAP doesn't immediately suggest ET, but that's a subtlety most ppl on both sides often miss

Out of hand? Is there violence, or any real harm in the discussion? Con artists are real, yes. If UAP are explainable, there are holes in our situational awareness. Either way there is a huge aerospace problem. Idc what side you're on, it's an unavoidable topic whether you like it or not

The video is kind of the least interesting thing about the gimbal and go-fast incidents. Remove the videos, we still have weeks of alleged radar data and pilot experiences to be questioned. UAP is more than blurry videos. If it's all explicable, then we have a psychological crisis in our US navy

They never said magic. "Alarming" is the word to use when anything immediately inexplicable happens near military operations. Perhaps they can be explained in retrospect, which is great, but in those moments pilots shouldn't be wondering what they're chasing after or doubting their instruments

Almost all videos are mundane, but the context is decades of military installations reporting mysterious flyovers of unknown origin
