Some beauty in the neighborhood from today’s walk. Also, my grandfather would have been 100 today had he not died at 93. Fanning the flames of wonder and awe.

Adventures in Crested Butte continue. Excellent farmer’s market. Wonderful people. Mountains. Fresh crisp air. I’m such a Rocky Mountain girl.

Loving the Mountain Words Festival in Crested Butte this weekend. Especially psyched to hear some of Athena Atkipis’s Apocalypse Road Show. Highly recommend.

Spent some time at the Renwick Gallery in DC today. Yesterday, my students and I were comparing Skywoman Falling and Eve myths. I like this version of Eve. ❤️

Sea lions in Santa Cruz. Beautiful day here. Kind of surreal to tour campus as parent of a potential slug.

Another excellent FB post from Rebecca Solnit. My sentiments exactly re: the fucked up news discourse, the pardon story and the mirage of intact principles, and the actual scale and importance of the stories we are not hearing nearly enough about. "Eyes on the prize and the perils."

Really helpful (for me) thoughts from Brene Brown. I tend to go more towards cynicism than despair, but they are closely related. I like this idea of hope as a practice (i.e. a cognitive-behavioral process). Bring on the micro-dosing!
