(To clarify, I mean Batman '89 showing up in the Ezra Miller Flash movie.)

Nothing is sacred, nothing can simply stand on its own as a good movie -- If you recognize it, it's getting a continuation 20/30/40 years later.

I liked when there was a world of different movies to get excited about and reference and pay homage to, but now it seems like if you want a movie that's /like/ The Devil Wears Prada, it absolutely has to be a sequel.

Is this like a symbolic depiction of Venom being always present in this guy's head, or is Norman really watching Venom get freaky with this dude in front of him

I genuinely think its message about fans is done as a joke, but it doesn't take it to 'ironic' levels. It's a subtle thing, and I really appreciate that.

By that, I mean that it's obvious this movie is trying to glorify the relationship between performer and audience, and say how important the fans are to them, and...

It's so earnestly said that it's kind of hilarious, but in the best way.

Very happy to have seen this film, it was properly exciting and so competently put together, not to mention it's a very reasonable hour-and-a-half. If you haven't seen it yet, I would recommend it! Not a huge game changer, but an enjoyable movie for sure.

The weakest part of this film was probably the music. Not bad or distracting whatsoever, just really only an air filler. I think the film could benefit from another collab with Éric Serra or David Arnold.

Martin Campbell proves himself again as one of the best action directors out there. Almost every shot in this film is so beautifully framed, and the camera movement is so dynamic and full of character, without being distracting. He films a fight scene so well and so clearly too.

I like that they actually manage to have some consequence to the evil side characters, without just straight up killing them. Honestly was a breath of fresh air, after watching Doctor Who's "Lucky Day" and "Interstellar Song Contest."

I think it's hilarious the few parallels between this film and Avengers: Endgame, given the character Michael's special interest in the movie. (Bald evil guy wants to destroy the whole of the world with his evil bracelet, stopped by his bracelet being stolen by main protagonist.)

I think it's good they made the head evil guy basically a death cultist, since it makes him automatically a lost cause and you just want to see him offed.

While this film does employ the "morally justified motives yet unjustified methods" trope (which I don't like), I do think it manages to stick the landing with it by not just painting these environmentalists are purely evil. At least, not at first.

Daisy Ridley makes for a great leading lady, I hope I see more of her in roles like this. The rest of the cast was good too, but Daisy is the main attraction, and she does a wonderful job.
