Been following the development from its very early stages in a discord server. Looks really promising.

Thank you. That's great praise to hear for something that's held together by two opposing gusts of wind!

Very early into development and work on it is sluggish but it's already fun to jum around in the game

Ehhh gen z (me included) grew up with windows xp and up from there until it became all walled off so i'd say that's the one generation that saw both unrestricted access that turned into a slop.

I have some sliver of hope left. Not for the older generations though, those are helpless beyond belief in most cases. Anything from young millenniald and below i have some hope that there's at least a spark of willingness when windows becomes cumbersome to use.

I feel like having to buying a slew of new machines compatible with w11 in this economy is gonna be a driving economic factor.

There's also the possibility to change your approach. Many people wince when they hear about linux because they have a decade old prejudice about it. Instead, talk about a new OS that is pretty much like windows and then recommend Linux Mint or something.

If it's about learning, there's enough youtube tutorials out there to last for a decade. Anybody willing to learn had the resources to do so

That's such a nihilistic stance. Like, yeah tech literacy is dire outside of something like Gen Z, but under enough pressure, people will have to adapt.
If they want to let their w10 install break, let them. And then tell them it's a waste of money to buy a new machine for w11 and hope they listen.

Modern distros are already incredibly user friendly. If you know how to install windows, you know how to install linux.

Feeling even more vindicated to finally switch to linux

If you want the games industry (specifically AAA) to be even more dire, that's a good way to go about it. 100$ for lots of people is the difference between play video game or ice soup for a week.

I used to laugh at "sjw owned" videos and then I stopped being 12

And yet, the result is fucking mind boggling. I was already in awe at the beginning but the reveal took me out.

I will most likely also go for a 9070 xt or xtx so i don't have to deal with Nvidia drivers forever

I'm currently running the experiment with a 3090 and i plan to try fedora, cachy, maybe pop_os and at last straight up arch linux because a friend uses it quite successfully
October 19, 2025 at 3:33 AM
And just yesterday i was wondering if that's something you will release. Yay!!

I think what's missing is game engines having actually good level design tools. No need to overthink it i believe.

Why would you assume i start random arguments???
