similar but no, basically imagine an arena break in DoA and then it transitions to like Street Fighter. Then another Arena break sets it back to DoA. But every round that ends on the style they got ko'd on is what style it starts as.

Take like dead or alive for example, and when you move to another part of the level, that's what would make it transition to 2D from 3D. Or Tekken when you floor break or move on the level.
