Currently obsessing about ESP32.
Really makes me wonder. They are *never* this concerted or passionate unless they have a grift somewhere. Shares in an alternative? One that isnt yet old enough to be legal to do a generic of?

Theres something, mark my words.

My sister came down in a pair of fairly tight jeans once and said "do these make my bum look big" and my father peered over the newspaper and says "No, that was the burgers".

Not sure if it counts as fashion but my nephew arrived at 9 lbs 8 oz... Big lad! My sister bundled him in swaddling good and proper and my father, a Dub, nicknamed him Tojo.

When my sister complained, he says "sure he's a neck like a well fed parish priest". 🤣🤣

The idea of her SO (who I know well) being rolled in crumb is more hilarious than you can know!!!

This is something that pervades a great deal of education at that level.
A year is a loooong time difference at that age.

Yeah I never thought about whether it was the same Bond or not. And now that I DO think about it, I realise, I couldn't care less.

And...and... They don't touch kids!

Search the community reaction to his streaming Path of Exile 2 character. Dude had no idea and pretended to have a bleeding edge character. It was actually sad.

That said, the technical details in The Gist are quite correct and as far as Gen AI goes, I can't argue with the predicted future...
November 9, 2025 at 4:58 PM
Can I just draw a distinction between Generative AI (Gen AI) and Artificial Specific Intelligence (ASI). I know Gen AI seems like the whole story but from inside the industry its really quite a niche area, albeit with huge impact.

ASI like Alphafold are moving humanity forward without stealing!

In the line of "light a candle rather than curse the darkness", I commend you guys for giving it a shot and Ive been meaning to subscribe to ye for a while so Ill do that, you've earned that much, little as it is! 🤣🤣

I dunmo, I think the 100% of victims of weapon assault being dark skinned is both bonkers and terrifying and also very sad. 😔

The issue isn't "are these results wrong" the issue is "are these results defensible". They aren't, and in an information war, that's like firing blanks.
November 5, 2025 at 1:09 PM
Yeah, and to be fair to you guys this is something that is plaguing a lot of science at the moment (eg google "reproducibility crisis in psychology")... as its not something intuitively understood even in academia (though Im being overly kind with that interpretation in some circumstances 🤣🤣).
November 5, 2025 at 1:06 PM
I think the intent is great and something that should be funded by the government to dig deeper (eg: that signal in the "victim of weapon attack" data is shockingly strong) but it needs a far more robust design to be concrete and defensible.

If you ask 10 such questions, by random chance one of them will happen to be statistically outlying.
To then report it as an astonishing result is incorrect. It's called P-Hacking.
EG, you can't say "in our sample of 600 people, incredibly 450 said they got heads last time they tossed a coin"
November 5, 2025 at 12:44 PM
Its not just the sample size, 600 is fine for a single issue (eg: a referendum vote).
The problem is that you asked a lot of questions.

Imagine asking about random events. "Have you ever flipped 6 heads in a row" "have you rolled snake eyes" "ever had butter land butter side up" etc.
