Violet Oil Beetles, found on Higher Comfort nature reserve.
They like species-rich grassland and woodland edges, which are exactly the habitats we're developing on the nature reserve. They parasitise solitary bees, so are an indicator of a healthy wild bee population.

Thanks to the generosity of three very talented artists, we're able to sell these beautiful cards on our website.
All proceeds go towards preserving and enhancing habitats on the Culm Measures and raising awareness of their importance.
