Let's hope enough people want to take it on as a community group. It does seem the only obvious way forward given the costs to keep it open though I assume volunteers will be needed to keep staffing costs down.

They're not strictly deciding to close the pool, they'll be voting on whether to stop/reduce the subsidy. The decision to actually close it would surely rest with the Northbrook Trust if ECC don't maintain the current subsidy level?

Serious q. Doesn't shipping add to eco problems? Boats might produce less carbon per person than flights but they still add CO2 and presumably pollution into the sea? Correct me if I'm wrong as I may be ignorant on the matter..A great adventure nevertheless.

There's obviously so many I just couldn't choose between them all!

Hope the flag will be flying high at county hall!

Let's hope you listen to residents when we send a message and don't vote on just ideology. Congratulations to Jack but he needs to hear what everyone says in his division not just those who voted for him. LTN v2 must never happen.

Probably annoyed that he can't stay in his Greek property indefinitely!

Gosh 50% seems low. Can understand why a cllr who sits on 1 council who doesn't have a good attendance rate, say far less than the 80% you aim for, wouldn't stand for the other council, because obviously they wouldn't have the necessary time needed to make a full commitment to either/both.

What % of attendance do the greens think is acceptable for a councillor? 50/75/???
April 26, 2025 at 9:48 AM
Yes I don't disagree with that, his attendance and engagement with residents have been absolutely shocking and should never have been allowed to carry on. But we also need reps at council who will speak up for the majority not just for party ideology.
April 25, 2025 at 6:01 PM
Though given 80% of residents didn't want the LTN, how can you claim that the Greens represent the people of H&W?!!!! You like to represent ideology.
April 25, 2025 at 5:27 PM
An absolute fiasco and Exeter Labour should be ashamed because enough residents have been complaining about this for the last 18 months.

Were they aware it broke the law?
April 20, 2025 at 7:44 PM
The Newtown scheme is nothing like the Heavitree LTN.the scale of our scheme was ridiculous..at least with Newtown you'll still be able to drive through it.cutting off 2 wards the way they did was hideous. No wonder ppl objected. tho not sure I think 2 way cycling +cars on Clifton Hill is great idea

Did you ask them what their views were on the roads that were taking more traffic and thus making it less safe for kids living on those roads? Thought not.
April 20, 2025 at 5:47 PM
I don't disagree some will be upset and I expect most of these moved into the quiet roads selfishly having no regard for those who had to endure more traffic just so a few streets could be lovely n quiet.
