Took up urban sketching with watercolor and ink and I love it more than painting w/ gouache. I can't stop painting. Meditative. And I was able to paint and catch up with @shannonchou.bsky.social. A productive weekend.

On top of all that, California uses a lot of prisoners on the ground to fight fires AND Los Angeles has recently been cutting the budget for the fire departments and funneling it into the LAPD.

Painting progress. Started to learn to paint last year by using youtube tutorials. First image was from January 2024 and the second is from January 4th 2025. To be clear, all my paintings are from references/tutorials not my own. Next step is to paint using my own reference photos. I love painting.

"Mediterranea Inferno" is a fevered dream equal parts style and substance. Distill the essence of Argento's giallo films, the stories of Antonioni's trilogy on "modernity and its discontents", mix in Buñuel's "The Discreet Charm of the Bourgeoisie" you would get close. +A will play again

I read this book 15 years ago and there’s not a day goes by that this line doesn’t knock around in my head. I didn’t know you could write like that. If you have a similar experience please share.
