When they do it with a female reporter...then I'll be impressed.

PopOS is redesigning their desktop right now and isn't paying as much attention on their actual release...thus they have a few more problems than they normally would. You should definitely try Linux Mint out.

Keep in mind, no one is forcing you to do anything. No one really cares that you hate it either.

BTW, there is a Salix Linux (salixos.org) based on Slackware. It's a smaller distribution of Linux but it's out there. Most people recommend Linux Mint for beginners. Hope you experiment and have fun :)

brew being mac's command line utility most people use. Linux uses tools like that (apt, pacman, dnf, eopkg) that can install software much in the same way.

Keep in mind, you can try out Linux and run it completely from a USB stick on your PC and not even install it. Most distributions of Linux have this test drive capability.

Mac's are based on NeXTSTEP operating system which itself was heavily influenced by Unix. Unix and Linux are very much alike. So desktops CAN be good...but sometimes you have to install something through brew (aka command line) for distributions.

Well, more like 70%+of all servers. But 90%+ of supercomputers and 85%+ of the smartphone market.
February 3, 2025 at 7:34 PM
Linux runs 90+% of all websites...it can't be bad right?
February 3, 2025 at 7:29 PM
wireshark. But if you're talking super super lightweight...then use ss.

Cool, now filter by Linux and watch that number go way down. No offense, but my library is just as long and I only have about 10 games that work on Linux.

The danger is pretty small on this if you watch what you intake into your body. The percentage of folks experiencing this is also low as the paper cites only 30 cases. Anyone who can google knows that B6 in large doses can cause issues...just like large doses of just about any vitamin will be bad.
January 26, 2025 at 8:07 AM
You assume no one knows what you do when we all have google and AI to do research for us. You just assumed I was less informed than you on this. I wouldn't have busted your chops on this at all if you had approached it differently.

Probably when a gaming experience is standardized across distributions. Right now, you have hundreds of different processes for handling driver/steam/proton installs across hundreds of distros. Until that is unified across the board, it's not going to happen.

Anecdotal and unverifiable evidence is why I left the other site. Looks like I'm still forced to deal with it here as well. Oh well, good luck in your vitamin war.

Serious question...what does you knowing the movie have to do with cultural collapse of the movie industry?
January 24, 2025 at 5:18 PM
There is also an opioid crisis. How about you go after drug companies pushing opioids instead of people attempting to take vitamins and supplements?
January 23, 2025 at 6:48 AM
Inevitably eh? As in, "Without possibility of escape or evasion; unavoidably; certainly. " Yet here I am at 50 having taken vitamins my entire life and am fit and fine. Time to step away from your activism against supplements and do something else more productive. You're not going to convince me.
January 23, 2025 at 1:57 AM
I made no assumptions and said no such thing.
January 22, 2025 at 7:50 AM
I bet. Gotta push those drugs. Can't let people "self medicate" with vitamins.

Well, there is loops.video which is being done by the pixelfed developer which uses the same protocol as Bluesky (I believe). But it's very early in the development.
